Emile Borel Emile BOREL (1871-1956) French mathematician, professor at the Faculty of Sciences in Paris. He was a specialist in the theory of functions and probability. In 1922 he founded the Statistical Institute of the University of Paris and in 1928 the Henri-Poincaré Institute.
